Amarapura

General: The Amarapura is named after the former capital city of Myanmar, whose name means "city of immortality". These intelligent and playful cats are one of the breeds of sacred temple cats, developped by Buddhist Monks in former times. Fossil records witness a medium sized cat with semi-foreign body type and mosaics and paintings show their characteristic silky coats with mackerel tabby pattern often in silver and golden. The magical Amarapura was unknown in our modern world up to now, but a group of breeders succeeded now in breeding back these wonderful cats. The Amarapuras are ideal companions for people who love affectionate, energetic and low maintenance cats of a mystical nature.
