Chatière

General: The Chatière originated in France. It was founded by a popular local artist who described the breed as living, breathing art. These cats are vocal and often mischievous with a particular disdain for discipline. Some people find them difficult to handle, while others describe them as energetic, intelligent and fiercely loyal. More still report only their melodious voice, which is almost like a song bird. There are many superstitions surrounding Chatières. In France, it is commonly known that naming a Chatière with a title that is not traditionally French will bring at least five years bad luck. It is also said that two Chatières producing a straight-eared kitten is an omen of financial trouble for their owner. Chatières can bring good luck too, however. Burmese Chatières in particular are said to bring wealth and fortune to the humans that they love.
