Hiraeth
General: In a distant meadow a lonely girl stares sleepily up at the stars above her. As her eyes begin to close an unassuming stray cat quietly approaches and rests beside her. Moments later the girl and the cat fall asleep and they dream of the most magnificent adventures together. They run through enchanted forests and converse with talking trees. They visit markets run by goblins and battle pirates who try to steal their wares. They travel through time and mischievously chase linonophobes with balls of yarn. They solve ancient riddles and discover secrets about worlds that nobody has ever imagined before. The night passes and they dream and dream until the gentle first light of the following day wakes them up. As the girl rises a sense of longing reaches into the depths of her heart. She looks to the cat and notes the wistful expression on his face as he also recalls the worlds that existed only in their dreams. The cat’s eyes lock onto hers, and, with an understanding between the pair that could never be fully explained, the girl says one word: “Hiraeth”.
